Understand where to find the right medical help as a University of St Andrews student including the need to register with a GP, support from the University and what help pharmacists can provide
In an emergency, always dial 999 (9-999 from an internal fixed University phone). For urgent medical advice anytime, call NHS 24 by dialling 111.
If you need to see a doctor, you can book an appointment with your GP. See the register with a doctor guide if you have not already registered.

Student Health Hub
If you are feeling unwell, you can contact the Student Health Hub to find out where you can best get help:

You may be asked one or two questions about your symptoms. The Student Health Hub is a confidential and non-judgemental service.

Pharmacists
Pharmacists in the UK are qualified healthcare professionals. They offer clinical advice and over-the-counter medicines for many illnesses.
A pharmacist may be able to help you, or will tell you whether you need to see a doctor or nurse.
