LGBTIQ+

LGBTIQ+ stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer plus all other ways in which people self-identify in terms of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

The University is a Stonewall Diversity Champion, and it has both policy pages and support mechanisms for transgender staff and students. The University’s website has a list of LGBTIQ+ related resources, including a history of LGBT+ life at St Andrews.

The School has adopted a set of School pronoun use guidelines (Word)

For those involved in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), there is an external LGBT STEM site that may be of interest.

The University has a Saints LGBT+ group for students, an LGBTIQ+ staff network  and numerous role models, and our community is always well represented at the annual St Andrews PRIDE event.

To report any incidents of bullying, harassment or abuse (either anonymously or using your contact details), please use the University’s Report and Support tool.
